The travel airfare is going to see yet another rise due to the existing ambiguity in the global economy and leading markets of India and Brazil. Herve Sedky, the senior Vice President of American Express, stated that in spite of being the second biggest economy, China is facing a downfall in the tourism industry. The reason behind this decline is the European crisis and their exports and manufacturing sectors. All these factors have a significant and negative impact on corporate business travel.

The change in demand and supply situations in turn has an impact on pricing policies. Mr. Sedky stated that the changing patterns of these pricing policies also affect travel industry and its growth. Economic crisis has affected the travel industry of China and other parts of the world. While there are some countries like India and Latin America are quite equipped to face upcoming demands of this business. It is expected that air prices will show the increase of 7 to 8 % in India, Russia and Brazil.

Mr. Herve stated that in countries like Brazil and Argentina, major expansion is taking place in the construction of several hotels. He further added that this leads to a strong competition among these countries and it brings a modest rise in rates of hotel accommodation. He also pointed out that due to the instability in airline industry the Asia Pacific market is seeing a high rise in airfare.

As per his research, there will be an increase in airfare up to 7-10% for short, 5-9% for long haul flight and 4-7% for business fares while hotel accommodation rates will show a hike of 5% through the all the regions of Latin America. Rates for high class hotels in North America will grow by 4 to 9 percent.

In the survey conducted by American Express, the results showed a hike in Russia and Poland for the all sectors of the travel industry in the coming 12 months. These two regions remained distant from the Euro zone, and thus it is expected that they will show increased economic growth soon.
